2016 Normandy

Classic car trip to Normandy 2016

After we had been organizing weekend tours and trips to Paris for the "Traversee de Paris" for several years, we decided to offer a large, multi-day trip.

With 10 participants we set off through Hunsrück and the Ardennes towards France on lonely country roads, past mighty fortresses.

On the Normandy coast we continued in short stages. In addition to the drive along the beautiful coastal landscape, there was also the opportunity to visit a traditional distillery of a once world-famous herbal liqueur.

From our hotel, in the most famous place on the cliffs, a popular photo opportunity could be seen in the limestone cliffs.

We crossed the impressive “Pont de Normandie” bridge into the heart of the Calvados region, where of course a visit to one of the numerous Calvados distilleries was a must.

Even a rain shower couldn't dampen the mood. There were plenty of opportunities to get to know the regional culinary treasures. On the further way we reached the D-Day beaches with numerous evidence of the Allied landing in Normandy. The Tour de Normandie ended in Mont Saint Michel.
